And they are loving it.
Well, it still needs some minor touchs, but that will come in time.
It’s a fully interior room underneath the Dining Room. It ended up about 12x11, and the storage space being about 4x11.
We let the kids lead the decorating, which led to this carpet from Big Bob’s.
And this wall.
Built in cabinet and desks allow just enough separation!
And then the fantastic storage hidden behind these doors.
Not done with the decorating yet, but that will come with time. It’s really neat in there, and the TV is hooked up so that you can either watch TV or a DVD, use the gaming systms OR use it as a computer screen and stream video. I feel very high-tech!
And it came JUST in time for all of the snow days we've been having. It's been the perfect spot for them to hang out, behind closed doors on snow days when their poor mother still has to work from home.
And I think it's going to be a very versatile room. We also set the wii in here, and it works really well. And the carpet squares are a perfect combo of warmth and functionality. It's going to work great doing double duty as a sewing room, too. (If the kids will share =-D)
I bet they love it, particularly as they had a say in the decor. It looks great! Having doors to the storage makes all the difference to the room too.
ReplyDeleteAny news on the wine room yet?
Just askin' ;)
Very nice! They will HAVE to share, nice space for the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteGreat space girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd Bub, I decided the wine room is much like Christmas, you can have it anywhere, so long as you keep it in your heart.
It's awesome! Love all that storage space
ReplyDeleteMelissa,
ReplyDeleteExcellent room! I sure the kids will get hours of play and maybe even work done here!

This is a pretty sweet setup. I know where I'd rather be when it four degrees below outside with a foot of snow.
